I didn't have carob molasses so I substituted with date syrup and omitted the honey & brown sugar.<br />Also used replacements for the dairy...for the butter I used creamed coconut/coconut oil (50/50). So maybe the one you got happened to be bitter carob or something. BTW I would love if you look more into Gulf Arabian cooking and Iraqi.
