A Pause...

We've been in Malta on holiday, eating good Gozitan cheese and bread and nougat and ice cream, going to the beach, sightseeing, and drinking good wine. We're now off to Seattle for a few days but I will get back to posting as soon as we're home!

Excellent pictures. Makes me realize I need a vacation. I can imagine my husband and I, no children, good food and great scenery. Someday soon.

Your photos of Malta make me want to be there now....they are wonderful. You should post your recommendations and travel tips when u return and settle in! (OK, I am just being selfish because I am planning a trip the middle east next year.) Have a wonderful rest of your...rest.

Malta! Please tell me you tried the holey, chewy, delicious Maltese bread and that, even better, you got the recipe? :)You made me want to go back there. Hope you're enjoying your break.

Aaah Seattle, my home. If you have time, check out the Bamboo Garden which is right next to the Seattle Center, it's a 100% vegan restaurant that has an incredible selection of fake meat dishes. The only thing that has any animal product in it are the fortune cookies they give you at the end of your meal.

Mercedes, may I ask you about date harvests? I live in Pennsylvania and I have never seen fresh dates in any supermarket. If other fruits can be flown half-way around the world and marketed fresh, why not dates? My supply is always dried pitted dates.
